WOW!! When I joined VCPA a few years back I never dreamed I would ever be a board member much less President. I can’t begin to tell you how excited, nervous and scared I am all at the same time. I am looking forward to serving VCPA this year as your President. I am excited to begin working with the new VCPA 2011-12 Board Members and Executive Committee Chairs. I also want to thank each and every one of you who have agreed to volunteer your time.
I would like to acknowledge the outgoing board members and thank them as well for their time and dedication this past year.
President/Treasurer: Jami Knupp. In addition to her fulltime work schedule Jami pulled a double role for VCPA this year. She served not only as the President for two (2) years but due to a vacancy, Jami served as the Treasurer this year as well. Thank you Jami for all the time you have selfishly given to VCPA!!
1st Vice-President - Programs: Stacy Smith. Last year was my first year as a board member and I can honestly say that I had a blast!! I wasn’t sure what to expect but quickly realized I enjoyed organizing the general meetings, the programs and finding the speakers.
2nd Vice-President – Membership: Jessica Domingo. Jessica was in charge of keeping both new and renewing membership applications flowing. She did an awesome job of keeping our roster updated and ensuring the other board members were informed of new members, renewing members and any changes of emails or other contact information as it became available. Thank you Jessica for your time and effort!!
Secretary: Diana Mincy. Diana took minutes at our board meetings and ensured they were not only accurate but available. Diana was at the heart of keeping the information presented at the board meetings in written form. She transferred the written notes into a typed outline which was presented at the next board for review and approval. Thank you Diana for volunteering your time!!
CAPA Primary: Jessica Domingo. Yes, this girl performed double duty acting as our 2nd Vice-President – Membership and CAPA Primary. As our CAPA Primary, Jessica was in charge of keeping the VCPA board and members of state level happenings. Thank you Jessica for your time and effort.
NALA Liasion: Diana Mincy. Diana was another double duty person serving as our NALA Liasion and Secretary. As our NALA Liasion, Diana kept the VCPA board and its member apprised of what was happening at the national level. Thank you Diana for your time and effort!!
In addition to our elected board members, VCPA has Executive Committee Chairs who work behind the scenes. They give their time and their efforts to organize events such as our Springtime MCLA, our Wine Tasting & Silent Auction and the 5k Run. The Committee Chairs help by keeping us connected with our local programs. They also work with students as well as CLA exam candidates for our scholarship opportunities. Our Executive Committee Chairs assist in keeping VCPA current and vocal in our local legal community.
I am looking forward to working with our 2011-12 Board Members and would like to thank them in advance for giving their time and efforts for the upcoming year.

Please contact me with any ideas or suggestions you may have for topics, meeting locations, speakers, membership or just general ideas. Your input is important!
One of the goals for the board this year is to get the VCPA Verdict back in regular circulation. If any of you have an article you would like to submit or suggestions for articles, please let us know. We also want to have more meeting on the East. We would like to find other locations in the Camarillo, Thousand Oaks or Newbury Park area, so if any of you know any locations in those areas, please let us know.
I am looking forward to this year and hope to see more of you at our monthly general meetings!!
